This remodel addition in East Boulder was the first LEED certified remodel in the state of Colorado. It was important to the client to maintain the existing home as opposed to demolishing it and this therefore became a project priority moving forward.  The existing house was converted in to the Guest & Office/Shop wing, while the new addition houses the living, kitchen, and new master suite. The main exterior material, Durisol, is a recycled content unit, provide a solid thermal mass wall & insulation. The home features both hot water thermal panels, photovoltaic panels, and a revitalized south-facing trom wall, providing year round heat to the adjacent wood shop.
