Funny how life circles back on itself. Over nine years ago, Dale Smith, owner and president of Fänas Architecture banded together with a handful of “like-minded” professionals to start the Boulder Green Building Guild: A non-profit organization focused on making sustainable or “green” building common practice. The founding members met at each others’ homes on a regular basis and began the process of creating the flagship “green” organization in Colorado dedicated to service, action, and information.

The Boulder Green Building Guild is now well established, providing seminars, exhibitions, trainings, links to professionals, lobbying for political action, and additional resources in all things “green”. The Guild has recently expanded to include the rest of the state, resulting in the appropriate name change to the Colorado Green Building Guild. The mission is the same and with more Colorado areas served is stronger than ever. Fänas is therefore proud and excited to return to the forefront of the green movement in Colorado with the election of Partner, Elizabeth Smith to the Guild’s Board of Directors. She will serve a two year term beginning February, 2013 and is excited to help in the education and awareness of green building practices in Boulder and throughout all of Colorado.
